NEWSLETTER AND GIFT
Subscribe to our newsletter, and we’ll send you, as a gift, the book Guía de Cruceiros Xacobeos en el Camino del Mar de Arousa y Ulla published by Fundación de Mar de Arousa y Ulla. And you will also receive our notebook with everything you need to know about the St. James Way by Sea: stories and legends of the way, “La Traslatio” by the Apostle, and much more.
On the tours that we offer at El Camino por Mar®, you will be able to discover the westernmost part of the Iberian peninsula: the northern coast of Portugal, the Rías Bajas de Galicia, Mar de Arosa, and the Ulla River. As a pilgrim, you will experience the Portuguese Route in the direction of Santiago de Compostela.
At El Camino por Mar® we are pioneers; we have been developing adventure and pilgrimage tourist packages to Santiago de Compostela by sea since 2014. We have made an effort to foment and combine elements such as sailing, spirituality, culture, hiking, cuisine, nature, adventure, and friendship.
You’ll sail in large, modern boats, with experienced licensed boat captains, in an area which is ideal for sailing, thanks to the way that the wind blows in the area. You will sail the Mar de Arosa and go up the Ulla River in a motor boat, seeing the sites of “La Traslatio.” You’ll be able to walk through idyllic spots in the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park, the Udra Cape, and the Way of St. James. You will be able to get “La Compostela,” the pilgrim’s passport, which is given by the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. You will discover the local cuisine: seafood, fish, wines from the Albariño and Ribeiro D.O., etc. in well-chosen establishments.
Our multicultural groups will allow you to share your interests with people from many different countries.
For all of these reasons and much more, we can assure you that the unique experiences we have in mind will make your choice an unforgettable experience.
I did the route by sea at Easter time in 2015 from Oporto. It was 9 wonderful days, the boat was great, everything was really well organized. It’s not expensive for the quality that they offer.Marta Dominguez
It was the best thing about my holiday in Europe. Days of the sea, good food, and the Camino de Santiago. I met really cool, amazing people. Lovely beaches and wonderful spots. Highly recommendable.Mick Carpenter
It was really interesting to do the Camino de Santiago with Caminomar. They are good guides and sailors, and they know the area very well. I’ll go again next summer to do Rías Baixas.Sthefanie Müller
I went with them last spring. I really liked how the skipper explained sailing techniques to us and told us about the landscape and the food. And the Cathedral of Santiago.Kiung-Mi Choi
